The Brooklyn Cyclones of Coney Island are encompassed by mechanical rides, gaudy billboards, weather-blasted old buildings and the pageant of silliness strolling the boardwalk. Bleachers with snapping pennants and yelling fans with crackerjack, Nathan's hotdogs and cold beer surround the baseball diamond. For several hours, absolutely nothing else matters.
