Lauren St John has participated in two group shows at Village West Gallery: The Whisky Rebellion show in Fall 2014, and the Vanishing Worlds show in Winter 2016.
Lauren St John grew up surrounded by animals on a farm and game reserve in Zimbabwe, Africa. Her family had a pet giraffe called Jenny, as well as eight horses, six cats, eight dogs, two orphaned warthogs and a rescued goat. Her passion for conservation started then. At 16, she won the National Under-18s painting prize with a picture of an owl. She has been on a mission ever since to convey the magnificent proud spirit that lives inside wild animals free of man's influence or control, through photography, painting & her novels.
Now living in London, England, Lauren is an ambassador for the Born Free Foundation, helping them rescue leopards, dolphins and other animals from horrific situations of captivity. She is also an award-winning children's author. Her White Giraffe and One Dollar Horse series are international bestsellers and both The White Giraffe and The Glory, a YA novel about a 1,200 mile horse race across the American West, have been optioned for film. Her adult books include Rainbow's End, an African memoir, and Hardcore Troubadour: The Life and Near Death of Steve Earle.
