"The painting Traffic Nightmare represents one of the most typical periods of time where my mind meanders the most; while waiting in traffic in front of the Holland Tunnel.
I've spent significant time, both as an adult and child, being stuck in front of the Holland Tunnel. Even now I would occasionally reminisce on how I use to imagine all these things about the other cars in traffic. The slow pace of traffic allowed me the time to really take in everything around me. Just like a branch in a tree, each car in traffic has its own direction, purpose and fate that goes unnoticed when looked at in a group."
